MOSCOW, Dec 6 (PRIME) – The Russian Prosecutors have initiated checks of compliance with safety requirements after a pressure bump at the Cheryomukhovskaya-Glubokaya mine in the Sverdlovsk Region, the authority said in a statement on December 4.

No victims were reported, the mine continues to operate as usual.

"The prosecutors of the town of Severouralsk of the Sverdlovsk Region have organized checks of compliance with safety requirements and with the labor protection legislation during mining after a pressure bump on the mine," the statement read.

Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov said that an industry-wide agreement will adjust the mining industry rules in December after a methane explosion caused smoke emission at the Listvyazhnaya mine killing 51 on November 25. The decisions will be based on opinions of the trade unions and companies, he added.

On December 4, the minister met with head of the independent trade union of miners Ivan Mokhnachyuk to discuss miners’ salaries. He said that the issue was of the highest priority.
